I'm so freakin' excited!
I am inspired.
My stable tale is coming along nicely, but as I plot the evil actions of the trafficker in it, I became incredibly inspired to write a M/M paranormal that is steeped with all the weird sh*t I am apparently famous for.
Opening scene: M/M lovers being burned at the stake (and/or having their entrails spilled and set on fire with c*ck and b*lls cut off and inserted orally) as witches in a FUTURE time in a place called New Salem. Lukas (burned at the stake) travels across the mountains of death intent on finding his lover, Jonathan, in another life.
The possibilities for their reincarnations are endless. Perhaps mindless...oh, no! I'm plotting this one out and having a blast.
And then I'm working out the next "Eventide" tale, too! The woman who would be king. Yeah...she's one tough b*tch.
So, what's filling your mind these days?

horse shows and writing
I somehow need to figure out how to write at horse shows. A portable desk? I guess I can sit in the HEATED "office" area until my daughter is showing. Tables, chairs. It's kind of nice. As opposed to, you understand, the covered outside arena with cold wooden benches (bring a blanket to sit on) and the smell of horses all day long.
I like being a "horse mom" (think: soccer mom), but darn...I don't have to watch if my daughter isn't riding! I could write!
Thinking ahead...oooo...and next time, I bring a snack.

Dreams of being acquired...
Last night I dreamed that Big Tom and I were kissing and that he "transferred" some magic into me. Very cool dream. He also "protected" my family from another Native American shapeshifter with evil intentions. And my miniature dachshund was able to walk briefly on air, too.
I believe this is a sign that the sequel "The Orca King: Jaded Passions" is going to pass muster with the acquiring director of Liquid Silver and be a successful e-novel. Plus that...it gave me an idea for another in the series :)

The Orca King: Jaded Passions
About six months to write and one heck of a battle for a title...I'm pleased to share that I finished "The Orca King: Jaded Passions." The sequel. The continuation.
The great write whale returns in The Orca King: Jaded Passions
A tale of one woman trapped in the land of suspension of disbelief, and loving it.
Introducing Tommy, the bi-sexual heir of Big Tom, Rule Jentry, the book reviewing, disbelieving in true love heroine, Tavis, the possessed deputy and one-time lover of Tommy, Ruth and Esther Marshall, sisters in jeopardy from Orcas Island's bitter past, and re-introducing Oliver Pendergaast, the sodomite, drunken sheriff who knows he's in Hell and doesn't care.
Stay tuned!

There, but for the grace of God and...and half a clue...go I
Never use company equipment for personal use. Never use company equipment for personal use. Heck, I bring my own laptop to the day job and write on my lunch hour. Because I KNOW BETTER than to ever use company equipment for personal use. Have I? Yes. Did I stop? Oh, yes! Was I caught? Kind of. Was it one of the worst moments of my life because I value my day job and employer? Yes.
Never use company equipment for personal use. Now...that said...I hope this lady's novel rocks!
Lusty novelist paged for writing on the job

Unfortunately for Tanja Shelton, her job didn't include writing bodice rippers. She was supposed to be doing whatever it is a production control scheduler for an industrial machine maker does.
Typing, lots and lots of typing, made Typing Tanja's boss suspicious.
No sharply chiseled hero came to Typing Tanja's rescue. She got fired for her romantic ruminating...
After the writings were discovered, the company fired Shelton and challenged her claim for unemployment benefits. That led to a state hearing, at which Shelton testified that her writing was a way of honing her job skills during slow periods at work.Now she's got plenty of time to finish just what the world needs, another romance novel. As the reporter said, "Unbridled lust! Unspoken passion! Unemployment!"
"I was writing, but it wasn't necessarily a book," she testified. "I was just typing my thoughts down, trying to keep my brain moving. I wanted to improve my typing skills."
She said she didn't consider her fiction writing a violation of the company policy that prohibits personal use of the computer.

Mooncusser Cove's FABULOUS review
From The Romance Studio (read full review here)
Mooncusser Cove is different from anything I've read in a while and that's a good thing. The author told this tale with authority and made me believe it from the beginning. Her heroine is intelligent, stubborn to a fault, and engages in sex with nothing short of absolute glee. The characterization in this story was very strong but I particularly enjoyed the heroine. The sensual scenes were frequent and frank but blended into the story as prescribed making the plot flow very well. There were dark moments in the story, some that will stay with you after the tale is read, but it's well worth it. Ms. Foster has a unique writing style that calls to mind the classics. Mooncusser Cove is a fast-paced, intense, and darkly erotic read. Don't miss it!
**I am really pleased with this freakin' awesome review!** I think I'll hold a contest! Impromptu, but what the heck!
Anyone who forwards me a "purchased" receipt for Mooncusser Cove will be entered into a drawing to win this lovely Mooncusser Cove watch!
I'll pick one winner from all entries on Saturday, January 12th and announce it here and at Silver Expressions, where I am the guest author that day.
Secondary prize for sh*ts and giggles: anyone who posts the words "I wanna go to Mooncusser Cove!" will go into a drawing to win both ebooks in my Shadow Lover series...Cold, Hard Kash and Mooncusser Cove. One winner, announced Saturday, as well.
Thank you!

Eventide
Coming soon in serial-format at Bammie's "It's Not Chick Porn" blog!
Eventide by moi, Darragha Foster!
Prince Hlini, or Lin, for short, is a man’s man. He enjoys riding, archery and killing animals in days-long hunts with his courtiers. He is also royal pain in the ass—literally. His voyeuristic and sodomite penchants have kept him much too buy to find a suitable wife in which to sprout his noble seed—because it’s safer to make love to page boys and stable-hands than it is to possibly produce a child who will someday poison you to usurp your throne. Prince Lin also suffers from a tad bit of paranoia. There is one woman whose tremendous beauty (and delicious potatoes) has caught his eye…Sigyn of the garden corner. But greeting her from horseback is about as close as he’s ever been.
Sigyn is the daughter of the village witch and the village undertaker. She is of the lowest caste in the kingdom, for she works on her knees in the dirt, mixing in compost created by her father from the burning of the kingdom’s dead. Still…she has the most successful vegetable stall in the realm. People come from far and wide to buy her fruit and veg. With strength, beauty and a height most women will never see, Sigyn could have many suitors—all lower class, uneducated dirt-farmers. She wants more from life. She wants to be king.

Why...oh, why...did we think of Hercules?
I'm cooking lunch and my husband is doing dishes...and for some reason we BOTH broke into song, singing a very old cartoon theme song. Something neither of us had thought of for years. I don't recall what precipitated the event...but here's the song...
Hercules, hero of song and story!
Hercules, winner of ancient glory!
Fighting for the right, fighting with his might;
With the strength of ten, ordinary men!
Hercules, people are safe when near him!
Hercules, only the evil fear him!
Softness in his eyes, iron in his thighs;
Virtue in his heart, fire in every part of
The Mighty Hercules!
Wanna here the song? Click here.
I always kind of liked the witch (pictured above). And I vaguely recall thinking the "iron in his thighs" was naughty.
Now...here's the rub...this cartoon first aired in 1963. And I remember it. Oy vey!

Auld Lang Syne
In the middle of the journey of our life I found myself astray in a dark wood where the straight road had been lost. -- Dante
Chakotay: If you always see the road ahead of you it's not worth the trip
This is what I am pondering today. My road has been bumpy as Hell in 2007 and here I am but hours away from 2008. But where those rises I encountered and seemingly surpassed truly so difficult that I am battle-weary and scarred going into the new year?
- I had major surgery to benefit my health;
- I had two books come out, both of which pleased me greatly to write;
- My husband's kidney disease went into remission;
- My daughter got a horse and thereby, we have driven the road to BB Stable every day since February--sometimes more than once;
- We got to spend time with Thordur Bjorn, my dear Icelandic love (husband of Helga Dis, father of Thula Katrin and Esja)
- 2007 marks the 30th year of friendship with Thordur's father, Siggi, and his wife, Annalisa, also of Iceland. Holy crap I'm getting old! It was the tail-end of 1977 when I first wrote Siggi;
- We remodeled my office and the daughter's bedroom;
- I lost Kitty-Girl after 18 years, but gained Teague, the Hell-cat;
Here's to embracing the changes of 2008! Come hill and valley and forceful blockade, I am armed and ready. Bring it freakin' on.
May those who read this experience boundless joy, peace, security and good circumstances in 2008.
