The countdown

On April 5th, I'll be 46 years old. Do I feel 46? I dunno. I think I act more like a kid than my own kid does sometimes. I really have only one birthday wish, and that's to have some new sheets. Isn't that pathetic? I want new sheets and pillow cases and pillows. If I ever make it to Target I could just buy some. But not Bed, Bath and Beyond. You wanna know why? Some blighter got ahold of my debit card account number on Friday (at 3:19 p.m.) and tried to charge $35.00 at BB&B. My bank caught the "funky key-in" immediately and flagged my account. I tried to buy my husband dinner at 6:30 p.m. and my card was "declined by the bank." How flippin' embarrasing is that? I ran my plump butt up the block to the nearest branch of my credit union and unraveled the mystery. So, I'm without a debit card until my new one is issued. Cash? Please! I don't use cash. I don't even have a checkbook! I am a debit card person. And now, I am nekkid in the wilderness. So, new sheets? Not today!

I like to give gifts on my birthday. It's more fun for me if those (whom I force to attend and participate in a 3-day event) celebrants around me are getting something in return for their praises. Yanno?

So, to one poster on this blog between today and April 6th, I shall give a gift. A signed tradeback copy of my first novel, "Love's Second Sight," and the Liquid Silver Books ebook of his/her choice.

Post happy!

Darragha :)

OMG! What a crappy birthday present!

I've been hoping this doesn't happen to me. I shop at TJX stores all the time. Now I go with cash, but never enough. LOL.

Cheers on your b'day! And Jeers to the A**hole whole stole your identity! They should be strung up and used as a Pinata!

7-10 days for my new debit card to appear. Oy. Cash? What's cash? Checks? You mean I have to carry a checkbook? Ugh. I am way too tied into my technology. A slave to my debit card.

Thanks, and keep the posts coming!

Some how knowing that they stole the card number is scarier than if they actually stole the card out of your purse. But, you could make it part of the birthday event, that you and your hubby go shopping together. His card works, right? Wishing you the best of everything on your special day.

It's my husband's account, too. Neither of us has our debit card for 10 days. Such a challenge.

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

I just wanted to post and wish you a very Happy Birthday! I know the start of this month has not been the best with your card being stolen and all but atleast that is something easily fixed. Here's hoping the rest of the month is filled with wonderful surprises that will keep you laughing and smiling.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Darragha!!
So sorry to hear about your debit card. I'm a debit 46 year old gal too. I'm not sure I even know what cash looks like.
Thanks for the contest.

Happy Birthday Darragha.
I just celebrated (okay endured) my 47th birthday Sunday (April 1st). AND...guess what I got? New sheets! LOL Of course I had to buy them for myself and then have hubby give them to me. They are so wonderful - they have a high thread count (not the crappy 180 ones that feel like burlap).
Hope you get the credit situation straightened out so that you can get your sheets too.
Anywho - have a great day!

Happy Birthday, Darragha!

I will be turning 46 in June, and agree that that particular piece of plastic is essential to life (I even use it in the fast food drivethru. Use the 7-10 days to pick out a really, really nice set of decadent sheets and then have hubby help you break them in properly!

Oh, KaiSq! I like that! Nice 4billion count sheets and my husband. Ooooooo....now there's something worth waiting for!

I always forget to bring cash. For a while, my husband thought it was on purpose. No, I'm just forgetful.

I say, dump the debit card! I have heard of more problems than benefits.

Have a wonderful Birthday! Let us know how you celebrate. Did you get your new sheets? High count? Fancy cotton?

Happy Birthday! I'll be 51 May 5, and like you, feel as young as my daughter (who'll be 22 in July) much of the time. It's only a number. One that personally, I find easier to ignore than the one on the scale :~(

Anyway, I'm also a debit card person. Mine has been swiped through the reader slots so often that my signature has worn off. I can't get any pen to write on what little white is left. I tried a Sharpie but it wiped right off. I'm told I should have let it dry before doing the smudge test.... too impatient to let the ink dry and use the damn card since I also carry almost no cash and never a checkbook.

I hope you get your sheets, even if they are belatedly. You can at least go pick them out and have them hold them. And maybe get an extra BB&B coupon in the mail. Mine will take up to 5 of them, plus competitor's, plus expired ones of their own (they used to take expired competitor's coupons as well, but my local store has stopped that - too bad!). Anyway, you could have a coupon for the flat sheet, one for the fitted, and 2 for 2 packs of pillow cases, and one for pillows! Or a coupon for each of 2 sets, 2 pillows, and an extra set of cases. Think of all the combinations and the $$ you could save!

And then hold a 3 day long celebration ON them with your husband!

Well, life always gets in the way of new sheets and pillows. Hubby's truck is in the shop. Needs about 500.00 worth of work. Darn it...I think I'll get the sheets anyway!

The horse will run out of hay next. Or some other wonderful event will happen. Murphy doesn't like new sheets.

GAWD, it's scary living in the same town as dawna and tendr--they know my secret identity. I'll probably end up with a live cow on my front lawn.

HA!

I awoke to a pot of tulips and a card from my husband on our butsudan (Buddhist altar). And, he took today off work so that he'd be home with me tonight (He works nights/I have a day job). He is such a romantic man.

I'm bringing a ton of brownies to the day job--and leaving them in a place far, far away from moi. I don't want to eat them, I just want to share the joy!

I thought LOST was great last night. Anyone else watch LOST?

I'm not entering the contest since I already have Love's Second Sight, but I want to wish you a very happy birthday!

Aww, your hubby is so sweet. A romantic man--how rare! LOL

I watched Lost. I liked the part with Sawyer. The whole Kate and Jack thing confuses me though.

Enjoy the new sheets!

They're purple!
They're 300-count!
They're Egyptian cotton!
And the new pillows are non-allergenci and oh, so very lovely!

My husband and daughter took me to dinner last night, and to the movie " The Reaping." Made me jump!

Look for the winner announcement tonight!

Happy Birthday Darragha!

For sh*ts and giggles

I give good readings. Norse Tarot readings. The cards are my own design. I've been doing readings as "party favors" for 35 years. I've been doing readings quite successfully on the Liquid Silver forum for quite awhile, too. When I was 13 years old I could have gone professional, but my mother, in her infinite wisdom, protected me from becoming a local media victim. She is a retired psychic minister. I grew up around this stuff! She taught me to share my gift and never to charge exorbitant amounts. I've been charging $5.00 for twenty years, or just doing that "party favor thing."

I'm going to start offering personal, full readings via email to my blog visitors. Not three-card quickies like I do on the forum.

$5.00 per question (one question per reading, please). No "life and death" questions. Remember, readings are supposed to be fun! You can pay by paypal or you can buy one of my books, forward me the receipt at darragha @ gmail. com (no spaces) and I'll accept that as payment.

If you want a three-card quickie for free, ask at the forum :)

Thank you, and I look forward to tossing the cards for you!

Darr
